Although Nusa Lembongan used to be known for its vast array of shacks which were only braved by surfers, it is now amongst the favourite islands in Indonesia to many travellers. You can still get a simple shack overlooking one of the many stunning beaches, but there is now also the option to keep your creature comforts and stay in a boutique hotel.
Despite Nusa Lembongan growing in popularity each year, it remains a mellow place. Time doesn’t seem to be a thing, with days punctuated by the sunrise and sunset, and activities planned around the mood of the ocean. It is a relaxing getaway for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of mainland Bali and get back in touch with nature.
Getting to Lembongan is only a half hour boat ride from the beaches of Sanur.
