I’m sure any bride-to-be will agree to me, that bridal glow is one of the most important things to get in the lead up to their big day! If you’ve been following my journey, you’ll know that been working for over a year now trying to get my skin to that stage. After months of hormones, antibiotics and Roaccutane – nothing was making me happy with my skin, so after moving to Melbourne I entrusted my skin to the experts at Richmond Skin and Laser. The best thing about only trusting your skin to the experts is that you can just sit back and relax while they do all the hard work!
This month I tried out my first DMK Enzyme Treatment. This is a deep strengthening and firming treatment that is designed to restore skin to its peak condition. It does this through increasing circulation and lymphatic drainage that strengthens and firms the skin.
What makes it different to any other facial?
Your average facials and products will most commonly only work topically on the skin whereas the Enzyme Treatment is a ‘paramedical’ treatment, meaning it works with the skin to revise it’s functioning by regulating dysfunctions that cause the skin to look as it does, therefore instigating better skin functioning. Sound confusing? I was confused at first too! But if you think of the skin as a factory that works too fast (resulting in acne) or too slow (resulting in ageing), your beautician will assess the underlying issues of your skin and encourage the factory to work at its best at all levels.
What Was it Like?
It was made up of two main steps;
Enzyme Masque 1 focuses on skin performance. It aids in skin functioning allowing the skin to work at its peak. The masque felt like it was warming up to increase lymphatic drainage and creates a reverse osmosis which is like a cell cleansing. My face looked bright red and felt very, very warm – but it was over before I knew it!
Enzyme Masque 2 & 3 focuses on muscle banding through strengthening and restoring stronger and firmer tissue. The masque has a tightening effect, quite literally when you’re experiencing it as well as after! It’s great for loose skin on the neck as well as weakened or inflamed skin. Results are best when you get it in a 6, 8 or 12 week course and then maintained with monthly treatments.
Who does this treatment work for?
Enzyme Therapy is an excellent treatment for sufferers cellulite, fluid retention, dry skin, poor circulation, as well as for the treatment of ingrown hairs, pigmentation, stretch marks and acne on the body.
What are Enzymes?
DMK is the only company in the world to utilise the beneficial effects of transfer messenger enzymes. Enzymes are living substances that regulate health and work with certain minerals in the body to form a natural system of antioxidants that fight corrosive free radicals. Properly formulated, they can remove dead protein, toxins and other effluvia from the epidermis using a process called ‘reverse osmosis’.
Where some cosmetic facial treatments may only act on the surface of the skin, DMK Enzyme Treatments work with the skin. The enzymes aim to strengthen the structural integrity of the skin to create a healthy environment for cells to live and thrive in.
The extra step makes all the difference
DMK EFA Fatty Acid Supplements
Between my treatments I’ve been taking essential fatty acid supplements – DMK EFA. These are essential nutrients that help my promote healthy glowing skin, strong nails and shiny thick hair. The biggest benefit of the EFA’s are to assist with improving hydration of the skin from the inside. It works on making sure the cell factory is efficient and productive!
