Culture Tea

My brides often become overwhelmed with wedding planning on the quest to plan the perfect day. I tell them to light a candle, brew a cup of tea and sit down to remember what the entire day is about. It’s about you, your partner and your love for each other. Although every bride wants the day to be perfect – if you make it out alive and married – the jobs done! Everything else is just a lovely bonus.
So now enough of all that soppy inspirational stuff – lets get back to the idea of lighting a candle and brewing that cup of tea!
Based in Victoria, Culture Tea was created with an abundance of energy and a passion for empowering others. Founded in late 2012, we aim to discover, create and share tea blends and beauty products to aid in your health and wellness journey. We focus on improving digestive health, a balanced diet, and gently detoxing the inside and outside of our bodies. A local brand with a powerful brand message – just what I love!
We had a chat with the lovely Hayley at Culture Tea so we could find out more.
How did Culture Tea Start?
It all started back in 2013 when I started making an herbal blend to help my mum sleep better at night. I’m a big lover of tea, so I started making blends for myself at the same time. My family and friends started spreading the word, and my mum suggested I take part in a small fete a local primary school held. I received a lot of positive feeding, so decided to take it further. Now, Culture Tea is growing by the day, and I can’t wait to grow it further and to take it in new directions.
Is there any reason you chose to pair candles and tea?
Culture Tea started off primarily selling tea. I didn’t have any expectations to add new products. The candles started off in a similar way – a friend and I were discussing a brand of candles, where she was complaining about the candle she purchased was not what she had expected – although it smelled nice in the shop, it didn’t smell while burning and it didn’t burn evenly. After this, I decided to test out some of my own and added them to my range. I feel these products compliment each other, what more could a woman want on a Sunday afternoon, enjoying a delicious bath with tea in hand, relaxing with a gorgeous candle flickering away?

What is your favourite scent in your candle range?
My favourite fragrance is definitely Mango & Cilantro – this fragrance is everything summer. It’s fruity, it’s sweet, a mix of delicious sweet orange, peach, sun-ripened mangos with hints of cilantro, pineapple and green foliage. What more could you want in a summer fragrance?
