Every bride is after that perfect bridal glow. It comes from healthy, radiant skin. In the Skin Series– I’m going to take you through my experience of different treatments and how they’ve worked for me. Today’s feature will focus on LED Light Therapy and my visits to Laser Clinics Australia.
What is LED Light Therapy?
Just incase you don’t know what it is, LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, which emits therapeutic wavelengths (or colours) of light energy. The basic premise of LED therapy is that different colours trigger different reactions beneath the epidermis and penetrate the skin at varying depths. It’s not to be confused with laser, light therapy is a pain free, non-invasive treatment with no downtime.
Laser Clinics Australia
I visited Laser Clinics Australia in Melbourne Emporium for an initial consultation to discuss my skin concerns and get their professional advice for the best way to achieve my skin goals. They recommended I kick start my treatments with a Microdermabration, followed by weekly LED sessions for a month.
The microdermabrasion was great at removing dead skin cells and allowing my new, healthy skin to shine through. The easiest way to describe the experience would be that it felt like there was a cold vacuum on my skin. Having all the old, dull skin gone and my fresh, healthy skin was a great start!
What was the LED Light Therapy like?
The LED lights come from a formations of panels that are directed at the skin from a few inches away – so there is no skin to machine contact. Sometimes it feels quite warm – like you’ve been out in the sun for too long and your skin is starting to get sunburnt – but considering it is winter in Melbourne this is what I liked about it! If you’re a bit claustrophobic it may take a while to adjust –but once you do it’s a great way to take a bit of time out.
How often should you have them?
Results from LED light therapy are cumulative, so you’re supposed to get better benefits from doing repeat treatments. I did one a week for four weeks. Have a chat to see what would produce the best results for your skin as everyone is different.
What are the results?
The deep penetrating LED lights are designed to be soothing, target deep into skin cells to heighten their internal functions, stimulate dermal blood flow and induce faster healing. The benefits can include; Skin rejuvenation and improved skin texture, Acne reduction and Faster healing.
Who is it good for?
I’d recommend these for brides who are looking for an non invasive treatment with little to no down time. If you’re busy with bridal showers, engagement parties and all the rest and you don’t have time to go into hibernation with red peeling skin – this is a great treatment option for you! They’re also ideal for the brides who are strapped for time (aren’t we all!) as they take less than half an hour – so you can duck out at lunch and come back, no one will know a thing!
