Kester Black

Local – Tick.

Ethically Produced – Tick.

Environmentally Friendly – Tick.

For too long ethical consumers have had a limited choice when it comes to fashionable and on trend cosmetics. Although many brands are now jumping on the band wagon and meeting Cruelty Free standards, there is still an uninspiring choice when it comes to colours – especially of nail polishes!

Kester Black has it all. Like all our favourite brands they are Australian made and owned, committed to supporting local businesses. They  also use sustainable production methods including the use of recyclable materials and small batch manufacturing to minimise wastage. Their products contain only the highest quality ingredients and all have CCF (Choose Cruelty Free), and Vegan Society accreditation. This is everything you want and more from a nail polish brand!

My favourite colour which is perfect for bridesmaids is ‘Queenie’. It adds a pop of colour whilst still being elegant and feminine.
KB 2‘Blush’ is a classic bridal colour that can do no wrong. It is elegant, feminine and understated – so the focus of the attention can be on your face (and dress). I’d recommend this colour for those with fair skin. Those with a tan or an olive complexion should note that it can sometimes appear as quite a ‘sickly’ tone as the cream clashes with yellow undertones in the skin. So when you’re going for your trial spray tan or makeup, definitely have a trial manicure as well – not that you need an excuse!
For those lucky enough to be blessed with tan skin, I’d recommend the ‘Peony’. Although this colour appears to be quite pink, it will compliment darker skin tones far more as it is a nicer contrast with yellow undertones.

All of the colours on offer are absolutely gorgeous – usually my polishes are all neatly packed away in a draw together but my Kester Black ones have been taking pride of place on my bathroom bench looking absolutely.

Kester Black has recently released a Nail Polish Remover which we love just as much as their fantastic colours! It is water based rather then acetone and contains aloe vera and vitamin e which softens the skin and strengthen the nails while removing colour instead of stripping them of essential nutrients which acetone often does.
